FASTEN THE SEATBELTS: IT’S A DRIVE TO YOUR DREAMS!!

Updated: Nov 9, 2020

That one scary thought, the one daunting dream,

Leaping faith,

Thinking, believing, and then daring,

Finding one’s way of spreading smiles!!!

One of the best things about being a content writer is it changes your perspective; it teaches you to listen to your thoughts. Funny how we think we know ourselves and woooooosssshhhh! The next thing you know is your mind is blank!!!

Reaching for the dream is chancy however some do have the guts to grasp and taking the gamble where 4 core members, someone did say,” boond boond se sagar banta hai.” Little by little, pooling funds, we started various diverse, interactive events to attract people from distinct strata of life. Events like Snehalya, happiness in togetherness, khaweshein, etc. Each event is innovative to attract people while making it interactive sessions.

Uniting the energy of young adults, curiosity of corporal workers, and the wisdom of established individuals...But the thing which is common amongst all: is the will to help, the will to see people smile.

Talking to Deeksha Tiwari a government job aspirant who came in contact with the organization through a friend says, she finds strength in helping the underprivileged, making them smile. Describing an event, Snehalaye where b’ day of foster kids was celebrated, she said,” when we gave them their cards, two of them were talking about the glitters, the way their name was written, the sparkle in their eyes, the sense of security and love they felt, just brings an immediate smile to your face.”

A homemaker with the responsibility of her world on the shoulder, Mrs. Seema just hopes that she can return all the good that has ever come her way. She said and I quote,” Ek zindigi bhi agar badaldi iss life mai toh, I will fulfill the reason for my existence.” She believes that monetary help can last a few days, so why not we teach them some trade work, handicraft to make them stand on their feet with financial independence.!!!!

With a dream to design an app to send out a red alert if and when a person specifically a girl is in distress. Mohit Sharma introduced to the Spreading smiles organization through a friend. A pharmacy graduate working as a Medical scribe always wanted to contribute his bit to make the world a better place to live in. Pledging to bring smiles to everyone’s face.

Being a friend to one of the core members and having seen the growth since the very beginning. Avantika Setia a practicing psychologist, remarks “it’s precious to see a bunch of children playing with no care of the world because for a child the sky is the limit.” She aims to counsel these kids and teach them about good touch and bad touch alongside breaking the stigma around mental health.

Next on the list is the conqueror of seas, an officer in the Merchant navy, Ayush Pathak who even as a kid used to save his pocket money and buy items for little kids. He believes that as an individual it seems like a humungous task but ‘logon ka sath ho toh thoda aasan hin ho jata hai’. He aspires to open Spreading Smiles 2.0 in his hometown Dehradun.

Through the different branches of the societal tree, the common roots which bind them are fundamentally based on values of sharing and growing together.

This growth follows an exponential rate, driven by the desire to help. And this depends not only on the knowledge of how to help but also the want to help.

REACHING MILES BY SPREADING SMILES!!
